AI Accountant does not keep a separate set of masters. Parties, items, ledgers, and godowns come from your Tally company, and every entry you create points at masters Tally already recognises. This is why the dropdowns show what they show.

What comes from Tally

Autofill on selection

Selecting the party fills in the address block, GST treatment, GSTIN, and place of supply from the master. Selecting a stock item pulls in its rate and tax rate. To change a value for one entry only, click the pencil icon next to the field. The entry changes, the Tally master does not.

When a master is missing

If the party, item, or ledger you need is not in the dropdown, it does not exist in the synced masters yet.
  1. Add it in the relevant module in AI Accountant (Customers, Vendors, Items), or create it in Tally and sync.
  2. Reopen the entry form.
  3. Select it from the dropdown.

Godowns

Tally needs to know which godown stock is moving out of or into.
  • With one godown configured, the field fills in on its own.
  • With more than one, the field is mandatory.
  • If the field is blank and will not fill, the item usually has no godown mapped in Tally.

Multiple GST registrations

If your company is registered in more than one state, the GST Registration field at the top of an entry decides which branch the entry is billed from or recorded under. Set it before filling in the rest, because place of supply and tax treatment follow from it.
